Polina Kouklina is a Russian fashion model. She has appeared on the cover of Japanese, Korean, and Russian Vogue.
Polina was born in Moscow in 1986, where her modelling career began. In her early teens, she and a friend went to a fashion show in hopes that her friend would be discovered.They arrived late, however, and it turned out that Polina was the one to be discovered that day.
Only a short time after that, the London modeling agency Take 2 took Polina under contract, soon following testshoots and her first editorials. After her graduation Polina began to work as a full-time model, since then there’s been a great demand for the freckled face with the deep green eyes.
In the season Fall/Winter 04/05 she impressed the whole fashion industry with her grace and elegance. But despite the fast success, Polina remains her feet on the ground. For her every job is a new challenge and every journey a new adventure. The combination of ethereal beauty and remarkable intelligence makes her irressisitible for the photographer Ben Hassett. He was one of the first who discovered Polina’s potential, her pictures taken by him in the British Vogue and The Face speak volumes about their co-operation. “To know her is to love her.
